Kallar Central Sports Club

Our Journey

Kallar Central Sports Club proudly holds a special place in the cricketing history of the Kaluwanchikudy region as the first hard-ball cricket club established in the area.

The club was founded in 2007 with just 12 members. From those humble beginnings, we have grown into a strong and united sporting organization with more than 170 members today.

More than 50 of our members are currently living in different countries around the world, while continuing to maintain a strong connection with and support for the club.

Cricket Achievements

Since 2009, Kallar Central Sports Club has been continuously participating in the A Division cricket tournaments organized by the Batticaloa District Cricket Association.

One of our proudest achievements was winning the B Division Champion Cup after defeating Kooddamunai Sports Club in the B Division final organized by the Batticaloa District Cricket Association.

In addition, our club has secured more than eight 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies across various T20 and ODI tournaments, reflecting our players' dedication, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

Battle of the Everest

For the past 11 years, our club has played an important role in organizing the prestigious "Battle of the Everest" Big Match between BT/PD/Periyakallar Central College and BT/Batticaloa Hindu College.

We are also committed to developing young cricketing talent. Our club members have contributed as coaches and mentors, providing training, guidance, and encouragement to young players and helping them develop their skills and confidence.

League Participation

Our club actively participates in various cricket leagues and tournaments, providing our players with valuable opportunities to gain experience, improve their skills, and compete at higher levels.

Community Service & Social Responsibility

Kallar Central Sports Club is committed not only to sporting excellence but also to the well-being and development of our community.

As part of our Annual Club Day, we organize an annual Blood Donation Camp in our village. Through the participation of our club members and the local community, we contribute towards saving lives and supporting those in need.

Annual Day & Educational Recognition

Every year, we proudly organize our Annual Day Function, where we recognize and encourage students who have achieved success in their education — including Grade 05 Scholarship Examination achievers, G.C.E. O/L Examination achievers, and students who gain university admission.

Through these initiatives, we appreciate their achievements and encourage the younger generation to pursue their educational goals.

Dengue Prevention & Community Clean-Up

Every year, our club members come together to conduct Dengue Prevention Shramadana Campaigns in our village.

We identify and clean areas where water can accumulate, helping to reduce the risk of dengue and promoting a cleaner, healthier, and safer community.

Free Educational Support

As part of our commitment to education, we provide free tuition classes for Grade 05 Scholarship Examination students.

Through these classes, we aim to provide additional educational support and guidance to students and help them prepare confidently for their examinations, regardless of their financial background.

Our vision is to build unity through sport, nurture the talents of the younger generation, and strengthen our community through education, health, and social responsibility.

We believe that a sports club is not only a place to create talented athletes, but also a platform to create educated, responsible, united, and socially conscious future generations.
